ENTROPY
The degree of disorder or randomness in a system.
The very fabric of our universe itself is in a state of entropy; it’s level of disorder increasing with its constant, continuous expansion.
It’s in this state of entropy that I find a beautiful paradox. One in which everything we know, all around us, is moving unapologetically into disorganization, all while we in our humanity cling steadfast to things that make us feel whole—united, even.
But maybe that’s the nature of humanity—to provide the proverbial glue holding together the bits of an otherwise constantly disorderly existence
REBIRTH
The understanding that through spirituality a transformation arises by dissolution of the ego. This rebirth evolves ones consciousness to understand that there is no division between us, but rather unity in humanity itself; that we are born here seemingly as individuals, but in reality we are all collectively the universe experiencing its self.
SPIRIT GUIDES
Non physical being(s) whose purpose is to help guide us to attain our greatest potential on earth.
Spirit guides are referred to in many different cultures and histories, often discussed as either guardian angels or spirit animals. While some believe that they are assigned to you at birth, and others that they freely come and go as you need them throughout your lifetime, many, If not all, maintain that they are light beings, energy, or souls that have made their way to a higher plane.
SHADOW WORK
The process of becoming familiar with the parts of yourself that you’ve repressed.
While shadow work can be referred to as getting in touch with your “dark side,” it is more accurately the process of diving into the unconscious material that shapes our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. For example, if as a young boy your parents scolded you for crying (perhaps saying something like ‘boys don’t cry’), you may then repress those emotions as an adult, finding difficulty expressing feelings and empathy due to former discouragement.
Therefore, the shadow doesn’t have to be seen as source of ‘bad’ or ‘evil,’ but rather something that should be nurtured with care as wounds formerly unattended.
Through this acknowledgement of self we’re able to evolve our consciousness, accept our flaws (or being to see them as strengths), and move forward by giving ourselves grace rather than fighting our demons.
